I’m surprised they did not announce a ceasefire. Doing so, even if Putin just came out and unilaterally said we’re holding in place and won’t fire unless fired upon, would have been politically beneficial to both leaders. More importantly, it would have been very beneficial to the world both as a matter of peace and economics.
Wars are expensive, and the neocon model of forever war has proven to be unsustainable, never mind immoral. Russia, Ukraine, the US and the EU would all benefit economically from a peace deal. The only losers would be defense contractors, their investors, and the politicians to whom they donate money.
It does appear that they are moving in the right direction. They spoke (cordially, by all accounts) for almost three hours, and there were other side meetings with Russian business leaders that supposedly went well. Let’s hope the diplomacy continues and the killing stops.
Ashli Babbit Murder Video Released…
There has never been any question among those of us with LE training that Lt. Michael Byrd murdered Ashli Babbit. Perhaps with this video release Byrd and the supervision which shielded him from justice all these years will finally get tried and sent to prison where they belong.
Meanwhile, Derek Chauvin will live out his days in prison regardless of his objective innocence.
The bad guy walks free because of the communist narrative. The good guy sits in prison because of the communist narrative.
I’m noticing a pattern.
It should have never been any other way. The capitol is a crime ridden, third world cesspool. And they’re wasting no time cleaning it up. Congress needs to act so that the fix will be permanent.
Diminishing the Department of Education is Not the Answer…
My daughter started back to school last week, and as is our custom, we talk about her educational experiences frequently. One of her teachers mentioned the fact that “education” majors do not know their subjects very well because they focus on education (read communist ideology) instead of math or history or whatever. It was an interesting observation that I’d never really considered. Back in the old days, nobody majored in education. One would major in whatever subject, graduate, and then go on to get a teaching certificate. The old way makes a lot more sense.
The author of the linked article touches on this problem along with others. Bottom line: we are a long way from fixing education in this country, and Trump’s Secretary of Education is either being duped and used, or she is part of the problem.
This is Why We Have a Serious Crime Problem in America…
The perpetrator did not get sentenced to prison. Only probation. Violent people need to be locked up with other violent people and be subjected to strict discipline. The guy in this video should have sat in prison for a minimum of five years.
A top Israeli cyber warfare director was busted in child predator sting in Las Vegas. This is usually a no bond felony with a possible 20 year sentence. I’ve worked these stings, and you don’t get arrested unless you are guilty as hell. And they have all the evidence they need to make a trial almost pointless.
He did not have diplomatic immunity, but they allowed him to return to Israel. How are Israeli citizens above the law? Who made the call to let him go, and why didn’t the judge tell them to go pound sand? Did he post a bond? Do you think he’s going to come back for his trial?
First Woman to Umpire an MLB Game…
I watched the games, and in a surprise to exactly nobody who follows baseball, she did a fine job. I’m disappointed that the announcers and the sports commentariat made a big deal out of it. I get the fact that it is “historic”, but really, who cares? It’s a long and thankless path to become an MLB Umpire, and relatively speaking, very few women even try. It’s not like some mythical glass ceiling has been broken. We’ve had female judges, cops, astronauts, vice presidents, etc. There is no chorus of reprobates calling for testosteronal purity in the profession. Her accomplishment should have been casually mentioned when they introduced the crew and then, well, play ball.
The narrator is a mixed martial arts commentator.
